COMPOSER’S NOTES

ATLAS is conceived as a network of textures that seemingly overlay upon one another. Much like the earth, which the piece is modeled after, the music is ever-changing and dynamic. Harmonic, melodic, and rhythmic similarities carry throughout the duration of the work, showing the unity of both the piece and the planet. ATLAS is meant to tell a tale of times long forgotten while showing the ever-encroaching future which humans find themselves responsible for.
